HP7 Part 1 review

I've gotta say...for a movie that really is trying to keep it as close to the last book as possible, they're doing a damn good job so far.

The acting was incredible, the plot was interesting throughout and they're some scenes that'll make you laugh, cry and even be amazed at.

I didn't know there was going to be animation put in but they did it (for one scene). It kind of feels like a mix of CGI and claymation but still moves very fluidly which is good.

The special effects were so awesome to look at and you could really feel the suspense of the scenes that feel almost like a horror movie (only more tamed but still thrilling).

Overall, this film is taking a step in the right direction (BTW,the directing is great) and maybe the finale will end with a bang (literally).

Diary of a Wimpy Kid review

I recently went to the movie theater to see "Diary of a Wimpy Kid".
I liked the animated bits but I didn't like any of the charecters in that movie...and what makes it so interesting is that's an adaption of a book by the same name. They carried a simple style to the animation but it's satisfying just looking at those bits. The humor is more for kids and it almost felt like something Nickelodeon Movies would make except it's by 20th Century Fox.

I haven't read the book and I really don't want to anyway.

I won't do a comparison to the book and movie but I could obviously tell they changed things but kepted it closer to the book (if that makes sense).

I honestly didn't like the film but only a few bits (live action scenes) I found satisfying.

So overall, decent movie but more a kids movie.

The Nostalgia Critic and the Animaniacs

Just recently, the "rumour" that an actual Animaniacs tribute was being planned by That Guy with the Glasses AKA Nostalgia Critic. But when it actually went to broadcast on his website, we were dead wrong. A majority of the Animaniacs staff were interviewed via Skype and even had several unexpected guest stars.

Guests like Paul Rugg, Tom Ruegger, Sherri Stoner and many more.

The Animaniacs Tribute was split into a 3-part epic of a tribute and contains so much nostalgia, that you would be overjoyed by the awesomeness and funniness of it.

The link to the actual video(s) is here: http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/nostalgia-critic/27440-animaniacs-tribute

Character Designs

In the animation industry, what's the most important thing an animated series/movie/short needs?

Good character designs!

I mean just look at these screenshots:

They have space for facial movement, beautiful charecter "liveness" and a uniqueness to each layout of the characters.

BUT...when I look at these:

I see absolutely no originality, ugly designs and sometimes even no space to actually move the animated body anywhere.

This is what I see nowadays...nothing but crappy CGI and flash shows.
This is telling me that people are lazy when it comes to animation and need to get off their butts and do something about this.

It is rediculous!

Note:This is only my opinion and I only wanted to make a point about how lazy the animation industry is nowadays.

To Tom R.

Thank you ever so much for subscribing to my blog.
You are an amazing cartoonist (you have an Emmy for god's sake).

I was actually suprised when I saw who my 2nd follower was and I was jumping for joy.
You really are a legend and one of my cartoonist idols!

I find your comics to be some of the funniest I've seen (especially 'Drippy') since Animaniacs and YES...I have seen 'A pup named Scooby Doo'.

One of my favourite episodes of Animaniacs (from one of your episodes) is the one where Wakko makes farting noises with his hand but the last one was REAL! Classic!

I wish I could go to America if Animaniacs manages to return and become a writer/director/layout artist for Animaniacs. I even want to make a series for Nickelodeon called 'Swedish Lives' but I want the pilot to be an animated short that could win an Academy Award (if possible).

You might want to know what I think of today's cartoons. They're all heading rock-bottom and we NEED you back doing more Animaniacs and other shows we all loved and still do.

Your cartoons had a charm to them.A charm that can't be recaptured by another person.
Your cartoons could be sad, happy, incredible, epic, magnificent and just plain wonderful.

I love your work and always will. In my eyes,I see a man who can do so much to make entertainment a better medium and I know you still have that charm.

People have said that cartoons are only for kids...WRONG! Cartoons can appeal to all ages (like in the '40s and '90s) and that's what you're cartoons do,appeal to all ages.

This artwork preety much describes my happiness:

In short, thank you so much Tom Ruegger. You are a wonderful cartoonist and great friend. I highly appriciate your work and will always love Animaniacs no matter what.

From,

Alec.Dever.

PS:I strongly look forward to your response.

Shrek review

I just saw the final Shrek movie in 3D...and it was AWESOME!

The 3D was great, the CG animation was a huge improvment over the last one,the jokes were funnier and the story was just epic!

A great finale to a great franchise!
